How the Real Ages of the Outlander Season 7 Cast Compare to Their Characters

Back in Season 3 of Outlander, a teenage Fergus (César Domboy) bravely faced up to a small patrol of Red Coats—partially because, I would guess, Fergus was around 9ish in Season 2.
The third generation of the Fraser love story, Fergus and Marsali, are beloved by the Outlander fandom as one of the show’s most heartwarming couples. But how old are the actors who play them in real life? And how do their ages compare to the ages of their characters?
César Domboy is 26 years old in real life. His character, Fergus, is 22 years old in Season 7.
Lauren Lyle is 30 years old in real life. Her character, Marsali, is 20 years old in Season 7.
So, while Domboy is four years older than his character, Lyle is ten years older than hers. This is a fairly common practice in the entertainment industry, as it can be difficult to find age-appropriate actors for younger roles.
It will be interesting to see how the age difference between Domboy and Lyle affects their performances in Season 7. Will it be noticeable? Or will they be able to convincingly portray the younger versions of their characters?
